Disc Golf

Disc Golf is a sport that is enjoyed locally and internationally by people of all demographic and economic backgrounds. Disc golf is similar to traditional golf, except instead of clubs and golf balls, players throw discs. Players attempt to reach the “holes” (that are elevated baskets sometimes called a Pole hole™) in as few throws as possible. The player that reaches the hole with the fewest throws is the winner. Young and old alike can enjoy this sport, as well as the disabled.

The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is based in Columbia County, located in Wildwood Park. They annually host the Professional Disc Golf World Championship and PDGA Pro Worlds Mixed Doubles locally, as well as sponsoring tournaments globally in countries such as Canada, Finland, and the United Kingdom. The PDGA is open to amateurs and professionals. We are extremely pleased to have the new International Disc Golf Center at Wildwood Park. This facility includes the Disc Golf Hall of Fame, The Ed Headrick Memorial Disc Golf Museum, and a combination Clubhouse and Pro Shop.
