FLW Series Event

October 22-25, 2008, the ramps at Wildwood Park will be busy once again as we welcome an FLW Series event to Appling, GA. The first-ever FLW Series event held in Columbia County, the field of anglers will be challenged by low water levels. The Columbia County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Angler Partner, J. Todd Tucker of Moultrie GA will be competing and will give the field a run for their money. For more information, check out the FLW website.

FLW Series Chevy Pro Night

As part of the festivities surrounding the Walmart FLW Series BP Eastern Division event on Clarks Hill Lake in Appling, Ga., Oct 22-25, Milton Ruben Chevrolet in Augusta, Ga., will be hosting Chevy Pro Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21. Fishing fans will have the chance to swap tales with Team Chevy anglers Jimmy Houston, Larry Nixon, Luke Clausen, Kim Stricker, Dion Hibdon, Sondra Rankin and David Fritts. These anglers will be signing autographs, posing for photos and offering advice to fishing fans from across the region during the two-hour gathering at Milton Ruben Chevrolet, which is located at 3514 Washington Road in Augusta. The first 100 fans attending Chevy Pro Night will receive a free FLW Outdoors hat. Additionally, fans can register to win fishing rods, fishing tackle and a die cast Ranger boat. Take Our Troops Fishing

The 2^nd annual Take Our Troops Fishing event for Fort Gordon will be at Clarks Hill Lake, October 26, 2008. Last year’s Take a Service Member Fishing tournament was such a big success we decided to make it and annual event. The event will take place October 26, 2008 at Clarks Hill Lake. This year’s event will be a CSRA Regional event hosted by the Columbia County CVB , CSRA Alliance, and Community Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. We'll be looking for anglers to volunteer their time and their boat to take an active duty military person fishing on Sunday, October 26th. It's a very rewarding expierience for everyone involved.
